The Rusco Model 1700A brings the same custom-built, tested approach to security screen doors to a welded aluminum frame, an option for projects where aluminum is preferred over steel. Tested and certified to ANSI SMA 6001-2002.
- 6005-T5 aluminum alloy master frame, welded, 0.090" wall thickness, 38,000 PSI yield strength (133% stronger than 6063-T5 aluminum)
- 0.060" gauge embossed aluminum kick panel
- 12" x 12" marine-grade .028" diameter 304 stainless steel wire mesh, minimum 800 lb tensile strength per linear inch
- Extruded aluminum Z-bar liners, 0.062" wall thickness, with magnetic and/or compression-type flexible vinyl weatherstripping
- Mitered corners with internal gussets, not less than 2 3/4" x 15/16"; transom and mullions aluminum-welded and ground smooth
- Optional 0.090" horizontal mullion rails for separating mesh sections on wider openings
- Wire mesh held with a minimum 1/2" 90-degree bend on all sides, secured by a 0.062" retainer angle and Rusco tamper-proof screws, 4" on center
- Four tamper-proof 302 or 304 stainless steel hinges, non-removable pin, with oil-lite bearings
- Adjustable extruded aluminum sill sweep with flexible vinyl (optional box sweep in 6105-T5 aluminum with dual SANTOPRENE rubber sweeps)
- Cadmium or zinc-plated steel fastenings throughout
- One coat baked-on prime on aluminum liners, then electrostatic polyester powder coating, baked 20 minutes at 350°F; standard or custom colours available
