Rusco® Security Screen Doors are custom-built, steel or aluminum-framed doors that add a visible, tested layer of security and ventilation to any opening, without the maintenance burden of residential-grade screening. Every door is engineered to the opening it's going into. We don't build to "standard" sizes, so there's no such thing as a Rusco door that doesn't fit.
Every model is tested and certified to ANSI SMA 6001-2002 performance specifications, backed by over 89 years of manufacturing experience.
Rusco's security screen products are classified as Heavy, Medium, or Light duty. This classification is based on guidelines provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in conjunction with the SMA and AAMA standards
LIGHT DUTY
For openings where forced entry isn't the primary concern, such as upper-storey windows. .023" wire is standard.
MEDIUM DUTY
For openings with more difficult access, such as second-floor windows, where a deterrent against forced entry is needed. .028" high-tensile wire is standard.
HEAVY DUTY
For openings with easy access, such as first-floor windows and ground-level doors, where forced-entry deterrence matters most. .028" high-tensile wire is standard; heavier-gauge frames and reinforced construction are used in high-traffic and high-risk applications.
